Transient Earth Voltage (TEV) Sensor

TEV Sensors Connected to Kronos Spot Tester

TEV Sensors

TEV Sensors are designed to detect localised, high frequency PD pulses in switchgear, cable sealing ends, transformers and other plant.

The TEV sensor is a compact, electromagnetic sensor which can detect the high frequency radiation that is coupled onto an earthed metal surfaces from PD within switchgear, bushings and other plant. It can be used to make on-line PD measurements in decibels (dB). The TEV sensor can be magnetically attached or bolted to the outer surface of metal-clad switchgear, typically on cable boxes or next to cable terminations. An outdoor version of the TEV sensor is available, rated to IP66.
